The ACNH2015 Logo has been released!!! See it everywhere… soon!

Hi Thrillseekers!

Well, after the seeking of a number of samples from various Hashing luminaries, multitudinous artistic discussions of existential and surreal merit and juxtaposition, and countless revisions of the revisions of the revisions, the Official Logo of the 14th All China Nash Hash 2015 (ACNH2015 – to be held in picturesque Hangzhou) has been released into the wild…

In the end, we have opted for a home grown ACNH2015 Logo. Roomboy had a vision and this is the result.

Thanks to all those who worked on and submitted samples. There will be some extra beer with your name on it at ACNH2015.  🙂

Behold… <cue angelic chorus…>

Roomboy Logo 4 v4a Timmod jpeg

I’m sure you’ll agree that this Logo encapsulates many, if not all, of Hangzhou’s famed attributes.

I count 8… Can you identify them all?   🙂

Cheers and On! On!

HZH3 Hash #148 – “The September Shanghai Surprise Run” – Sat, 27 September, 2.30pm

Hello again HZH3 Hashers and those who want to be,

Whether you’re a runner 跑步者, a jogger 慢跑者 or a walker 走步/爬山者, come along and hit the country roads and tea field trails while chasing the ‘hares’ through the forests and over the hills around Hangzhou with us. 欢迎大家!

The Hares promise you runners’ and walkers’ trails featuring fantastic, never before seen sights for HZH3 Hash #148. There will be scenic tea fields, forests and hills, of course, but also lakes, parks and gardens, and cultural sites and other stuff you’d expect on a SCENIC BEST OF HANGZHOU RUN.

HZH3 Hash #146 – “The Search for the Real Dragon Well Run” – (briefly) re-Hashed…

HZH3 Hash #146 – The Search for the Real Dragon Well Run – 16 August 2014

Hares: Private Parts and Just “Birkhoff”

Report by lead Hare, Private Parts:

Hash 146 was a Tea Village and Tall, Tall, Tall Mountain run.  The hash was centered around Longjing Tea Village.  The Hares, Private Parts and Just “Birkoff” met early in the day to set the run using flour, chalk, and a nearly lethal amount of testosterone and adrenaline.  Not shy of a little climbing, they set the toughest Hangzhou Hash yet, as measured by vertical gain.  The runner’s trail was 5.04 miles with a vertical gain of 1879ft and a maximum slope of 45% (which is super steep, by the way) and an average slope of 14.2%.  The walker’s trail was a milder but still challenging 3.53 miles with a vertical gain of 911 feet, a max slope of 34% and an average slope of 10.5%.
Perhaps the Hares were a little too ambitious, because they just finished setting the trail right before it was time to start, though the Pack of 28 hashers hardly noticed.  After a quick meeting and briefing, the runners started off at 4:00 sharp with the walkers leaving soon thereafter.  While the runners climbed Lion Peak, the walkers took a scenic stroll through Longjing Village and down Jiuxi Road. Both groups quickly became lost and learned the importance of teamwork while hashing!  Halfway down the Jiuxi Road the groups met up at the first of two planned beer stops, and Heavy Junk, AKA Hash Flash took the opportunity to take a group photo.  The walkers again took to the trail with the runners not far behind.  After wandering up yet another hill and through some picturesque tea fields, the runners took another break for beer in WengJiaShan village while the walkers returned to the Bash venue.
After the run, the group first set down for beers and food (due to the bus schedule), and then conducted a Circle after dinner.  The food was great, the beer was shitty but cheap, and the environment was very peaceful.  Keg on Legs from Hong Kong Southside Hash made a guest appearance and really helped out with the camraderie. As usual, we were very happy to introduce several Virgin Hashers.  Everyone had a great time.
Photo 1: Spectacular LongJing tea fields scenery
Photo 2: The Hash walkers crossing one of the “9 Creeks”.
Photo 3:  Amazing lake side scenery during the Hash. A good spot for Hash walkers and Hash runners to stop together for a photo.
Photo 4:  What’s the best thing to do at the end of the Hash? Drink some cold beers, of course.  😉
Thanks to those I stole, errr, borrowed photos from. Thanks especially to Kim Kendall for her awesome photographs!!!
See many more great HZH3 Hash #146 photos here.
On! On!
