Q: Why did the young Irish Hasher put on 3 condoms before making sweet love, all night long, in a wide variety of Kama Sutra-esque positions, with his lovely young Irish Harriet girlfriend?

A: To be sure, to be sure, to be sure.

On that note, let me tell you that there’s been one thing missing from Hangzhou Hashing ever since it began several thousand years ago in Ireland when the Celts and Picts were battling the Romans… and that is night time Hashes!!!

But now, after endless millennia of constant battles and conquests, our wait is finally over!

Actually, I’ll be honest, it was really just after a few months of talk, chit chat and idle whispers (and many beers) at Maya Bar, that Private Parts recently put his powerful, heavy duty leather and other space age materials, military booted foot down and drew a line in the sand… he then drew 2 more significantly shorter lines, with marksman-like military precision, and made what military folks like to call an “arrow”…

And, that arrow was pointed to Tuesday, 17 March 2015 on the calendar…

Which happens to be St. Patrick’s Day… Which happens to be an excellent day and night on which to drink green beer…

And, which also happens to be an excellent day and night on which to enter forests and steal pots of gold from Leprechauns!!! So, another benefit of doing the 1st ever Hangzhou Night Hash will be that you’ll get filthy rich!!!

Plus, there will be bonus Down Downs if you actually see the Moon!!!

Down Downs should be delivered by an appropriately attired Beer Wench / Beer AiYi, of course! 😉

Hello again HZH3 Hashers and those who want to be,

For our HZH3 Hash #160 on 14 March 2015 (aka 14 / 3 / 2015, aka 3.14.15….) get ready to celebrate the LIFE OF π Day!!!

NOTE: On that day, there’s a very special time in the morning (and night) at 9:26:53 am or pm… which can be represented as: 3.14.15 9:26:53… Which gives you the first 10 digits of π.

Wow, people! We just Mathed and Scienced real good! 😉

On the other hand, Hashers generally prefer to talk about Math less and talk about butts more.

So, on that note, I’ll just say that, π rhymes with 拍 (Pai in Chinese). And, 拍 (Pai) is the first character of 拍马屁 (Pai Ma Pi), which means to “pat the horse’s butt”, which basically means to “kiss someone’s arse/ass” or “suck up to someone” or “be a toady” or “be a brown noser”.

But, remember kids… no-one likes a brown noser!

Anyway, enuff ejumuckation. Let’s Hash!!!

Bus 公交: Many buses stop at the buses stops near to the meeting point too. Go to the Google Map or BaiDu Map above and then look at the nearby bus stops to see if a suitable bus route is available for you. HOWEVER, There may be bus route changes in this part of West Lake on weekends due to traffic redirection.

Public Hire Bikes 共用自行车: Why not beat the traffic jams or get some extra exercise and ride a bike to the start? There are two Red Public Hire Bike points quite near to the meeting point. See the transport map above.

After the #160 Hash we’ll have the “Circle” to award Down Downs (beer provided 免费啤酒) for transgressions of Hash etiquette or protocol, errors of judgement, and various other misdemeanours, and then everyone is invited to join us for the Bash (dinner 晚餐). You can expect HZH3 Hash runs roughly (or sometimes VERY roughly… if the hares had a big night out on the night before…) every other Saturday (i.e. fortnightly) and both runners’ and walkers’ trails will usually be set.

Hey there (potential) Nash Hashers!

There are now just over 3 months to go until the 14th All China Nash Hash (ACNH2015) takes place in our fair city of Hangzhou from 22-24 May!

After a long (too long!), rigorous (my arse!) and painstaking (pffft!) drafting period, we have decided on what might (possibly) be the final version of our ACNH2015 event logo…

There are at least 8 thematic icons of Hangzhou included in the central picture (excluding the Hashers). Can you identify all of them? 🙂

We are now in the Regular Ticket registration period for ACNH2015. Go to our registration and event info website and register by 20 March (AND pay before 31 March) to get the Regular Ticket price. After that you’ll have to pay the Late Cummers’ price!

Hello dear registered ACNH2015 Nash Hashers,

See info below on 2 updates to the itinerary for the 2 optional extra activities to be held during the ACNH2015 event.

2a. Change of day/date to Saturday, 23 May for the (optional extra) Rusty Man Challenge

For all the Rusty Men and Women out there who have ticked the (optional extra) Rusty Man Challenge box on your ACNH2015 registration form already, or those who are considering doing so, for quite predictable reasons (e.g. not enough time for it on Sunday, 24 May…), we have had to change the date to Saturday, 23 May.

As this is an optional extra activity held during the ACNH2015 event we fully expect all Rusty Men and Women to follow up (not throw up or follow through…) and do a scheduled ACNH2015 Nash Hash run or walk on Saturday afternoon.

If you wish to change your selection to participate, or not, in the Rusty Man Challenge, then please return to the ACNH2015 registration website, then login and update your selection!

This will be the 3rd annual running of the Rusty Man Challenge in conjunction with the All China Nash Hash. The tradition continues!!!

2b. “Fullish Moon” Hash (optional extra) for early arrivers Thursday, 21 May, 8.30pm (TBC)

As a special bonus optional extra activity for ACNH2015 Nash Hash early arrivers, the HZH3 and HZ Full Moon Hash will be organising a “Fullish Moon” Hash event on Thursday, 21 May, meeting at 8.30pm (time still to be finally confirmed…).

Full disclosure… Full Moon… or any Moon TBH… not guaranteed… However, rest assured that cold beers are guaranteed! As always, Hashers are free to supply/display their own moons during the event! 😉

We’ll conduct a survey of Nash Hashers a couple of weeks before the ACNH2015 begins to get an exact idea of how many people will be participating.

So, for now, just mark your calendars and consider the option and stay tuned for details about that survey at the beginning of May.

Hello again HZH3 Hashers and those who want to be,

The Hares for Hash #157 are Triple-X and Gasbag.

The reborn Hangzhou Hash is almost 1 year old, so come and join the fun and celebrate with us this Saturday afternoon!!! 🙂

The Hares promise you runners’ and walkers’ trails featuring fantastic, never before seen sights for HZH3 Hash #157. There will be scenic canals and bridges, of course, but also parks and gardens, and cultural sites and other stuff you’d expect on a SCENIC CANALS RUN.

FYI, for the parents of tiny tots and rug rats out there, this Hash will be 95% baby stroller friendly!!!

We will start the #157 HZH3 Hash beside the canal near the gate of Triple-X and Gasbag’s home in the Wan’An (XiYuan) West Estate (万安西苑小区门口 ) at 42 ZhiDa FangBo Street, ShangCheng District (上城区,直大方伯42号)

Hares 带路”野兔”: Triple-X and Gasbag

Cost 费用: 20RMB – Covers: run/hike, beer and snacks. 包括: 跑步/爬山,啤酒,小吃.

Bus 公交: Many buses go along QingChun Road, JieFang Road and JianGuo Road. Go to the Google Map or BaiDu maps above and then look at the nearby bus stops to see if a suitable bus route is available for you.

Metro 地铁: The Hangzhou Train Station Metro station (杭州站站) and the LongXiang Qiao Metro station (龙翔桥站) are both about 1 – 1.2 kms walk (bike ride) away from the meeting point. See the Transport Maps link (if you can’t see the 2 map pics above) for suggested walking routes to the meeting point.

Public Hire Bikes 共用自行车: Why not beat the traffic jams or get some extra exercise and ride a bike to the start? There are a couple of Red Public Hire Bike points on ZhiDa FangBo Street very near to the meeting point.

After the #157 Hash we’ll have the “Circle” to award Down Downs (beer provided 免费啤酒) for transgressions of Hash etiquette or protocol, errors of judgement, and various other misdemeanours, and then everyone is invited to join us for the Bash (dinner 晚餐). NOTE: The Bash has a separate cost. 注意:晚餐是另一个费用.

As the central Nash Hash hotel, the Grand Metropark Hotel will be the place to check-in for the ACNH2015 and collect your event package on Friday afternoon, 22 May 2015. Check-in will open at about midday (TBA). We will also have the Friday evening post-Hash Circle and Bash here.

The Grand Metro Park is on the east side of West Lake, which is only about a 20 minute walk away. The hotel is about a 45 minute taxi ride from the Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport. At least one of the Hangzhou Airport shuttle buses stops right outside the hotel as well. It is a 20 minute walk from the Hangzhou Train Station. And about a 30 minute taxi ride from the new Hangzhou East Train Station. It is just a 5 minute walk to the Hangzhou Wushan Night Market and only a 10 minute walk to the Yan’An Road shopping precinct.
