I just found a message that arrived a few days ago in the HZH3 mail box from ILBJs at the SuZhou Hash. They’re organising what looks to be a super fun overnight Hash in the very scenic MoGanShan area (about an hour outside Hangzhou) on 7-8 June. It sounds like good preparation for, or a good alternative to, the Nash Hash in XiaMen which is set for the following weekend. Some of the Shanghai Hashers will go along too.
If you can decide before Monday, 19 May, then you can join the Suzhou Hash’s hostel bookings, as that seems to be when they want to make the accommodation bookings in the dorms at Prodigy Outdoor Base or private rooms in nearby hotels.
However, ILBJs said that if Hangzhouvians are doing their own bookings, as a separate Hangzhou group, then you can have until 26 May to register. She will pass on some accommodation info to us soon.

Hey Hangzhou Hash! I’m ILBJs from the Suzhou hash, and I wanted to let you guys know about a overnight hash we are organizing down at Moganshan June 7-8. I know it’s in your neck of the woods and it would be great if some Hangzhou hashers would like to join! The email announcement we sent is below. The run site is still foggy so i can’t give you an exact address yet, but we are having dinner at Prodigy Outdoor Base in Xiwuli village so the run should be hopefully not too far from there. Run starts at 2:00. Cost of beer/water/drinks and bash should be around 120-150/person.
Please let me know if you guys want to join, should be a great time and we’d love to meet other hashes in the area. On on!

Hey everyone, mark your calendars for an EPIC MOGANSHAN OVERNIGHT HASH on June 7-8!
Moganshan is a beautiful mountain range and national park north of Hangzhou. It’s a few hours drive from Suzhou and Shanghai and has historically been a haven for Shanghai elite trying to escape the summer heat. It offers a variety of trails perfect for running and hiking.
The tentative schedule is to depart from Suzhou Saturday June 7th at 10am, run begins at 2, then bbq dinner bash at night at the lodge (Prodigy Outdoor Base— http://www.prodigyoutdoor.com/), optional short run/hike Sunday morning, arrive back in Suzhou 4pm.
We need to book accommodation ASAP, so please rsvp to me as soon as possible to ensure your spot! Last date to sign up is May 19th, can’t guarantee space after that date. There are 2 10-person dorm rooms available that night at prodigy (160rmb/person), if you are interested in a private room instead there are numerous hotels within a 10 minute walk from prodigy, let us know if you will want a private room instead.

Mike and Kim did a (muddy) trail run out in the MoGanShan scenic area a month or so ago and they will tell you that it’s a really lovely area for outdoor activities!
